A few glimpses from today. Quotes, mostly.
Me: "What is it about a girl wearing a sari that is so beautiful? They're just...so much more elegant than modern traditional teenage girl clothing."
My dad: "What's modern traditional...?"
Me: "Generally, short shorts and a tube top."Susan (proferring Spanish-language tracts to some passersby): "Para espanol? Para espanol?"
Tim: "You're asking them if they speak Spanish, but you're asking it in Italian."Hindu priest: "You cannot come into the temple now. I'm sorry. The god is having lunch."
(Later, as we were leaving:)
Me: "I hear that back in the day, the priests of Baal had the same problem. Deities going out to lunch just when they're needed the most."
My dad: "That's what you get for missing staff meetings."Okay--you have three glimpses into my day. Where was I, and what was I doing?

I can tell you where you weren't. You weren't at the local food-mart. There's always something going down there.
looking at little indian women and hoping they were spanish so you can share tracts to them ... outside of a temple no less *snickers*
I would guess you were spending the day checking out foreign cultures and religions with your dad :)
I totally agree with you about women in sari's - absolutely stunning and graceful. My roommate went to Nepal and came back with a Nepali sari - they have pants underneath and a long dress with the scarf wrappings. Gorgeous. I could never understand why she didn't wear it 24/7. One of my favorite parts in Bend It Like Beckham is the wedding - all those beautiful sari's. Beats daisy dukes and skimpy tops any day.
"Para espanol?" LOL. that's great. "Lo siento pero yo no se, lo que quieres no hay nada asi."
Baal was on the potty as I remember it. Toilets and fire don't mix obviously. the gods john's must be soundproof too :)
